University Teachers To Fulfill The Academic Responsibility Of The Obstacles And Countermeasures - The Perspective Of The Local University

The academic responsibility is a series of duties and motions which undertook by the faculty when they engaged in the teaching and researching. When the faculties fulfill the academic responsibility they must observe academic standard and the academic ethics. The regional university as essential constituent of higher education system in our country, the faculties of the regional university fulfills the condition to the academic responsibility directly to relate development of our country academic health, relates the students struggling for existence strength fostering, relates the survival development of the regional university and the sustainable growth of local social economy.But studies have shown that faculties in our regional universities don't carry out academic responsibility very well. There mainly have been several big problems: low quality of teaching, academic research misconduct, poor-quality research; loose links with the community, lack of social services and so on. There are so many problems for faculties undertake academic responsibility, this mainly due to the existence of a variety of objective and subjective reasons. Upon analysis, the obstacle preventing faculties from fulfilling academic responsibility has several factors as follows: the lack of objective conditions, and related management systems, adverse social and academic atmosphere, academic scholars and personal morality.In order to involve regional university faculties to fulfill their academic responsibilities, and practice the functions of regional universities to serve the community, we must carry out efforts from the following aspects. First, set up the scientific orientation of the regional universities, and establish appropriate school development goals, instead of pursuing upgraded blindly. Second, regional universities should constantly improve their conditions of teaching and scientific researching for faculties, and provides the convenience for the faculty's working. Third, establishes the perfect academic control system, establishing academic misconduct disciplinary mechanism. Fourth, faculties should continually enhance their academic and moral character; do not abandon scholar's conscience because of material gain. Fifth, the general public should carry out supervision and suggestion on the faculty's academic behavior with appropriate way. In brief, we must do our best to enhance the faculty to improve the quality of the academic responsibility. Only this, can urge the regional university to benefit the populace and society.
