Arithmetic is located at a key position during primary school mathematics. Historically, long division is the most difficult content for primary students. The difficulties were reflected from huge kind of mistakes made by students.This study aimed at providing the criteria to identify errors, their categories and attribute analysis. According to Worth J. Osburn, the research was carried out by questionnaire to more than 1000 primary students. Meanwhile, as a research tool SPSS was employed for data analysis. Main findings and conclusions are as follows:· The problems with only one factor have lower wrong rate than the mixed type.· Division with remainders has higher wrong rate.· Division with the decimal divisor is easier to make a mistake than division with the whole divisor.· Division with repeating decimal has higher wrong rate.· As to the attribute of mistakes made by students, besides the character of mathematics itself, learners' cognitive and affective aspects also influence students' learning.
