The School-based Curriculum, which is designed and explored on the basis of its own understanding and ideology about teaching by the school itself, is developed under the framework of the New National Standardized Curriculum. It can basically overcome some malpractice due to the intensive curriculum requirements, accordingly to meet the demands of educational development as well as curriculum reform. School-based Chinese teaching can exploit diverse resources and creatively conduct various activities to serve the purpose of improving the students' competence and quality in Chinese learning. Peking Opera is a treasure in the family of Chinese cultures; it is therefore a major resource for the school-based curriculum. It can inherit and spread the culture about Peking Opera. By a series of specific teaching and the students' immersion and perception, it will definitely improve their cultural & aesthetic taste and sense of exploration. Consequently, the students' cultural awareness is cultivated. Moreover, the intimacy, identification and pride are produced. Thus, this specific culture, or rather, Chinese culture is woven into the students' personality. The exploration of the curriculum is determined by the needs of the students, teachers and parents. The implementation adopts integrated forms, classroom teaching included, taking into account the students' practical status. By the reference to the New Curriculum, the evaluation lays emphasis on process, self-assessment and cross-assessment. The aim is to better teaching and improve the design, as a result, to achieve the students' all-round advancement efficiently.
