This paper introduces the principle, characteristic, property and the application of fractal geometry. Describe the importance and the usage of studying fractal geometry, and analyze how to teach the lesson better. As a natural math, although fractal geometry found only 30 years, it reveals the basic rules of the nature. So, fractal geometry has a very important usage. Study fractal geometry in high school has great education value, such as cultural value, intelligence value, application value. A systematic instruction design about the fractal geometry based on its logical system in high schools, aiming at the gain of knowledge and cultivation of capability, is given. After this, the learning analysis, student analysis, target analysis, contents analysis and the strategy making were made.In addition, some experimental work about fractal geometry has been carried out so that above-mentioned instruction design can be tested. The results show that setting fractal geometry as a selected topic at high school is not only necessary but also feasible. This topic meets the characteristics of students in high school, and can satisfy their development. The results also show that fractal geometry can broaden span of view, boost up study interesting, promote development of capability, enhance self-confidence, and build up the ideal and skills of using mathematics.
