Family, as the basic cell of the society and one of the main places that an individual grows up and develops, has great influence on individual development. Single-parent family without spouse, which can date from the ancient times, mean that the husband or wife of the family passed away and the other spouse lives with the minor children. Compared to the other forms of family, single-parent family without a spouse has its particularity. Research on educational problems of the single-parent family without spouse will help the family establish scientific education view and guide education in the family and facilitate the school and the society to take effective measures to prevent and solve children's psychological and behavioral problems in the family.This thesis deeply and comprehensively explored family education problems in families without spouse with the aid of documentary and theoretical study.Firstly, the thesis introduced the cause of the single-parent family without spouse and the significance and current situation of the research. It emphasizes that differences of children of single-parent families mainly come from the families, especially the family education. The integrity of the family is not the mere factor that determines the family education. Parents of single-parent families can educate the children well if they follow the characteristics of their children and the children can grow up healthily and happily all the same.Secondly, this thesis made clear of the concerning concepts and analyzed the sensitivity, loneliness, inferiority, anxiety and fluctuating in study that occur in the growing-up of the children of single-parent family without a spouse. By comparing the differences of the family surroundings, the author explored the unique characteristics of the single-parent family without spouse and psychological developments of the kids in these families. . Thirdly, the author analyzed the problems existing in family education of the single-parent family without spouse from perspectives of psychological unbalance, education consciousness, educating methods, parent-offspring relations and sex education of the single parent.Fourthly, the thesis stressed the cooperation of the multi-elements in educating the kids in the families without spouse. Not only should the parent adjust the educating methods, the teacher, the school and the society should work effectively to educate the kids as well.Finally, the thesis mentioned the innovation of the paper based on the conclusion of the thesis.
