A nation always devotes all the precious traces of her entire spiritual life into her language. Language coexists with culture, and they share the same entity of origin. And Chinese language and literature had a cultural function. Learning an ethic language is the course to master, accede and communicate the ethic culture and to form the same value.The new"Class-target"also illustrates the basic characteristics of curriculum of Chinese language and literature:"it is a very important tool for communication, and plays an essential part in human culture. And it is the combination of utility and humanism". The humanism should be established in the complete construction of human and in what"human culture"is needed to moisten and cultivate human being. Chinese traditional culture has long been rich in humanity and it boasts how it tolerates the growth of human spiritual life.The concepts of traditional culture and the spirit of the nation existing in the sea of classics are the elites of our ethic culture, the real root of Chinese nation and the soul of our ethics. The Chinese education must lay emphasis on the heredity and innovation of traditional culture, and the heredity also promotes the healthy development of Chinese education itself. Thus, from the relationship between the nature, task of Chinese education and traditional culture, the heredity of traditional culture is the essential part of Chinese education.From the perspectives of present situation of Chinese education and human development,"the serious problems existing in modern education is the loss of educational significance and the crisis of educational humanism value."For a long time, the high appreciation to the scientific reasoning is also the cause for the imbalance of scientific reasoning and spirit of humanism, which results in the serious tilt between the two elements of human nature: moral and wisdom, and morale has lost control to wisdom.This is manifested in the following aspects: the loss of the entire social value and significance; emptiness of human spirit, the declination of morale, and the disorientation of spiritual world. These crisis that modern people face is actually the crisis of spiritual culture. This proves that the spirit of modern people need the cultivation of culture.Chinse education, which is closely related with culture, should burden the task to reconstruct the value of ideal and spiritual world so as to remove the barriers caused by the partial development of scientism. From the perspective of Chinese learning for the middle school student, those who are poor in linguistic ability are poor in spirit , thought and emotion, lack of cultural connotation. So the improvement of quality of Chinese education for the middle-school students depends on the cultivation of traditional spirit of human; and the reinforcement of heredity of traditional culture is the effective rectification of extreme scientism in Chinese education.It is necessary and advantageous to educate the middle school students with traditional culture. The teaching materials for Chinese education in middle school are rich in the spirit of traditional culture.Confucianism shows great concern to reality and pay great respect to others, and also calls for benevolence. It pursues the value of righteousness and personality and the spirit of advancement and persistence; it also pursues the excellent tradition of self-cultivation and self-introspection.Taoism is individualism-oriented, aiming to pursue the spiritual freedom and extrication so that the Taoists advocate the lofty spiritual world and open-minded and magnanimous attitude towards life. The Buddhism advocates the world of carefreeness, emptiness and peacefulness with the pursuit of a spiritual world of truth, goodness and beauty. These are the critical resources in our Chinese education and the necessary food for the growth of the middle school students.Therefore, in the practice of Chinese teaching, we should pay great attention to the cultivation of traditional culture for the students: the teaching concept should be rooted on the consciousness of humanity; the teaching contents should display the spirit of traditional culture; the teaching method should be led by accumulating in the reading, nurturing in the aesthetics, digesting in the experiences, and realizing the self-construction in dialogue; only by this way can the soul of traditional culture be absorbed in one's life, and complete the self-promotion of his life.In a word, the heredity of traditional culture plays a key role in the education and research of Chinese language and literature. It has determines whether the target of the Chinese education can be realized and the education itself can be well developed.
