On the Sports count today, the college athlete become a beautiful landscape, ProvinceUniversity Games, State University Games, World University Games ,etc, supply a stage onwhich the college athlete show self. Then, University organization starts to bring up greatlyhigh athletes.Sports is on the basis of the sport program, however, a great of variety of sportprograms, different individual value and conception, maybe, result in different reasons ofchoice. Motivation theory offers lots of explanations for the kind of the possible reason. Forexample, American psychologist Deci and Ryan put forward "self-determination", whichthinks "self-determination" is a quality of human function which refers to experiencechoice, composes immanent motive action and exists some external motive action. Harter'stheory of ability motivation refers to: individual consciousness for self can affect motivation,moreover, affect the choice for action. Under the guide of theories of motivation, This articlemakes use of The Sport Situational Motivation Scale, SSIMS which Guay and other peopleestablish as research tool, and regards the software of SPSS 12.0 for windows as statisticalanalysis tool. Based on this, it analyses different college athlete when they answer "why do youdeal in the present sport?" reveal the tendentiousness of the Sport Situational Motivation anddifference among them.To distinguish the dignity of present college athlete, this research divides college athleteinto two types. The first one is common college athletes who are studying on campus, shortfor "the common group", the second one is professional athlete who get university, short for"the professional group". This article anticipates to get several purpose below byresearch:(1)It comprehends the reason for which college athlete choose sport program by theanalysis of the marks of college athlete's Sport Situational Motivation.(2) It offers praticalguide for University which formulate major development programs.The research result of the common group displays: on the four dimensions of intrinsicmotivation ,identified regulation ,external regulation and amotivation of The Sport Situational Motivation, It exists a certain difference among the different types of collegeathlete .The average marks of man college athlete on the identified regulation and externalregulation man college athlete is above that of woman college athlete, however, the averagemarks of man college athlete on intrinsic motivation is below that of woman college athlete.It can be known by ONE-WAY ANOVY, the common group and the professional groupcategorizes independently by different variable and exist remarkable difference on The SportSituational Motivation. when college athlete of the common group and the professionalgroup carry out the T-examination, this research finds that they exist remarkable differenceon identified regulation and external motivation too, and the average marks of theprofessional group on identified is above that of the common group, but the marks onexternal motivation is contrary. Otherwise, it can be known by relative analysis: the commongroup has medium relevance with every dimension of the Sport Situation, but theprofessional group has no relevance.
