On The Construction Of Moral Environment

At present, building up a harmonious society is the aim of our social development. Under this circumstance, it has become one of the most urgent problems to construct such a favorable environment for moral education in colleges and universities that it will correspond to the reality of college education.This paper starts from the concepts and constitution of the moral environment and analyses its effects on the moral education in colleges and universities. Then, from the aspects of Marxist theory of moral education, environmental psychology, and the foreign approaches as well as the Chinese ones to constructing moral environment in colleges and universities, the paper expounds the theoretical foundation and the practical application of the moral environment construction respectively. Finally, abiding by the principles of purposiveness, systematicness and compatibility, the paper proposes the approaches to the improvement of moral environment, namely, to build up a harmonious and normative administration system, establish a campus culture with features of our times and universities, construct a learning environment of equality, interaction, openness and order, and a living environment of honesty and health. The above environments, mutually dependent, interactive, and integrated into a whole, are playing different roles in moral education in colleges and universities, with the aim of improving the moral ethics of and promoting the healthy growth of college students.
