Education evaluation is an important part of the school's educational activities. Mr. Brum, an American educationalist and psychologist put forward in the book (Educational Evaluation) that commanding the study method, introducing formative evaluation into teaching field and carrying out efficient monitoring over the students'progress and failure reason in the teaching, as well as the improvement of the knowledge level and capability of the students after the teaching, all these jobs will benefit to the continual improvement of the course of the teaching and learning and unceasing enhancement of the teaching quality. The theory of Mr. Brum has achieved tremendous success in the teaching experiments carried out in various levels of classes and different kinds of schools in the U.S.A. As to China's educational status, some problems still exist in actualizing and mastering the study's teaching method in the school's teaching process. To begin with the large aspect, for instance, the science of the classification of teaching target need to be bettered, and integrity of the subject knowledge will be injured if the classification is not proper; to the minor aspect, the systematical experiment of such kind has not been done in normal schools till now and the appraisement of how the help and benefit of this method to our teaching process can't be made yet. Just for this reason, the author, as a maths teacher of Jinzhou Experimental School ,Liaoning Province, under the background of the school's educational teaching environment , carried out a contrast experiment on mastery study for two continual semesters in two classes that have no notable difference in their capability in the entrance exam. This article shows really the test process and gained initial cognition and understanding of the reason and the result of the change in the target of the study achievement through the control and data investigation over various variables of mastery study method in the test, so as to give experience description and theoretical knowledge to a series issues such as how to implement and regulate the"mastery study method'in maths teaching and how to make following record to the students'achievement target and how to certify accurately the experiment data.
