The art of questioning is a key factor to teaching activity. Based on many research methods, such as literature review, questionnaire survey, classroom observation and intuition sensitivity, this paper fully demonstrated the art of questioning's study actuality, acquaintance actuality, practice actuality, theory basis, effect factors, forming ways, forming process, nature, principles, characteristics, techniques and strategies.Plenty of theories, such as philosophy, psychology, aesthetics, sociology and pedagogy provide firm theoretical basis for the research of the art of questioning. Through the literature review, the author found out the former studies which were about the art of questioning were stopping with the level of techniques, but not the level of art. So, the author depended on the theoretical basis of the art of questioning, began with uncovering the nature of the art of the questioning, suggested the characteristics of the art of the questioning, they are introductory, aestheticism feature, creativity and highly efficiency.Now, elementary school teachers, middle school teachers and high school teachers have mastered some the techniques of questioning, but the level of the art of questioning which they have is low. If they want to improve the level of the art of their questioning effectively, they must know the inner and outer factors which affect forming the art of the questioning, such as practical experience, teaching object, motivation level, teaching evaluation, capacity structure, acquaintance level, aesthetic cultivation and so on; clear the efficient ways which form the art of questioning, such as theory of learning, self-assessment and self-reflective thought, traineeship and communication, imitation and sentience and so on; be in accordance with the basic principles of the art of questioning, such as the unity of formal aesthetic and content aesthetic, the unity of correspondence and non-correspondence, the unity of affection and intelligence, the unity of intuition and logical thinking, the unity of individuality and common feature and so on; master the techniques of questioning which birth aesthetical effect, such as imagination, association, comparison, indirect questioning, anti-direction questioning, constant questioning, inverse questioning, quick questioning, slow questioning, unique place of questioning, new viewpoint of questioning, inspiration, interest and humor; and grasp basic strategies which improve the level of art of questioning, such as the strategies of teachers designing questioning, the strategies of teachers performing questioning, the strategies of teachers assessing questioning and so on.
