With the method of documentation, questionnaire and statistical analysis, this paper makes a psychological, behavioral and sociological research on the behavioral characters of Zhengzhou urban district` nine-year compulsory education students' extracurricular sports activities. (after called Z.U.D.S.S.A). The questions raised in the research as following:Firstly, population and time characters of Z.U.D.S.S.A are: about 96% of Zhengzhou urban district` nine-year compulsory education students are able to take part in sports. However, about 3% of students in middle school and 5% of students in primary school never take part in sports.Secondly, space characters of Z.U.D.S.S.A is: Students take part in sports mainly at the empty places near their houses, streets and sports fields of their own school.Thirdly, content characters of Z.U.D.S.S.A is: students always take part in small-ball sports items such as badminton and Ping-pang and activity games. Most of them dislike track and field sports .They always take part in sports by themselves. In addition, the shortage of setting, facilities and too heavy study burden are the extrinsic factors that confined University students to take part in sports activities. In view of analysis on behavioral characters of Z.U.D.S.S.A , I think it would be necessary to offer some advice to change the current situation of nine-year compulsory education students' extracurricular sports activities:Firstly, all the persons` enthusiasm should be mobilized .Secondly, it's necessary to build extracurricular sports organizations.Thirdly, education and PE administrative departments should strengthen the inspecting jobs on PE laws and rules at schools.Fourthly, government and ministry of finance should afford fund to the schools` PE establishment .Schools should open their setting and facilities to the public.Fifthly, schools should spread out contents of extracurricular sports activities.Lastly, teaching staff should realize the combination of PE and other subject knowledge.
