The traditional curriculum arrangement for physical education, which is characterized by the master of athletics skills, has been bound down by the old curriculum arrangement and teaching modes. It has disadvantages in the aspects of flexibility, ranges of knowledge and the training of multiple skills at the same time, although it has the advantage of the emphasis of specialty. Thus it's necessary to adopt various teaching methods and apply synthetic teaching modes in order to introduce more newly-established educational items. Hip-Hop Dance attracts a great many energetic college students with its special culture charming and art charming. However, except several professional dancing schools, few colleges make Hip-Hop Dance as a formal course. Therefore, according to the factual conditions of Ha Erbin Physical Education University, the author believes that it's necessary and feasible to make Hip-Hop Dance as a optional course after analyzing the curriculum setting principles and the characters and values of Hip-Hop Dance.With the guiding principles of lifelong physical education and joyous physical education, the author does some researches on the rate of approbate towards Hip-Hop Dance among the students and teachers of Ha Erbin Physical Education University and the subjective and objective conditions of the curriculum setting; on the basis of which the author conceives the setting of Hip-Hop Dance as a course, adopting the methods of looking up documents, interviewing experts and using questionnaire.The research results are as follows:First, Ha Erbin Physical Education University has already satisfied all the conditions to make Hip-Hop Dance a course: students in the university show great interest in Hip-Hop Dance; related teachers have strong confidence in teaching Hip-Hop Dance.Second, the establishing of Hip-Hop Dance as a course should be as follows: Hip-Hop Dance Course should be arranged in Grade Three with the teaching time of 36 hours altogether (2 teaching hours per week in 18 weeks ). The teaching aims of Hip-Hop Dance are to improve physical qualities, shape figures, boost students'abilities of creating and cultivate students'abilities of self-designing, self-dancing and self-training. The teaching of Hip-Hop Dance should follow the principles of intuitionistic and heuristic teaching, adopt such synthetic teaching methods as explaining and demonstrating, discomposing and composing etc. Teaching modes of Hip-Hop Dance should be a comprehensive utilization of various teaching modes. Evaluation should be a synthetic one, consisting of formative assessment and summative assessment.Suggestions: setting Hip-Hop Dance Course as soon to enrich students'life; training related teachers regularly to improve their teaching abilities.
