In the 21st century, as economic restructuring is further deepened, economic globalization further develops and the expansion of higher education, college graduates' employment environment has changed a lot. Competition is much fiercer in the labor market, therefore the voices calling for improving college graduates' employment are increasingly rising above the crowd. According to public opinion, one main reason for the difficult situation of college graduates' employment is that college graduates expect too much in their employment. So what is the current situation of the college graduates' professional expectation? What factors have influence on the college graduates' professional expectation? To study these two problems is of great importance and necessity for the graduates employment work. This paper discusses these two problems with the following methods: literature analysis, open questionnaire survey, structural personal interviewing, and closed questionnaire survey. We have studied the current situation of 2008 college graduates' (in Chongqing University, Southwest University, Chongqing Medical University, and Chongqing Normal University) professional expectation and the factors that have influence on the professional expectation.First, on the basis of literature analysis and questionnaire survey, we compare the professional expectation and its influential factors of the college graduates of different sex, place, family finances and major. Finally, we provide some ideas about how to improve college graduates' employment and how to adjust professional expectation.
