Paying attention to the research on the geographical problem, encouraging autonomic learning, as well as cooperative and explorative learning is the basic concept of the new century's high school geography curriculum and teaching reform. Using the way of combining the theories and cases to construct the teaching content of the geography curriculum, which is fundamental, selective and keeping pace with the times, has become the main characteristic of geography textbook in high school. The textbook is one of most main curriculum resources in the school education, so we should devote ourselves in selecting and designing a great number of geography curriculum cases, which is of good qualities, rich in content, distinctive, can reflect on the regional and comprehensive characteristics of the geography curriculum, can help students to master the geography knowledge based on the understandings and cultivate the students to have sense of social responsibility and human spirit. This is also one of the vital standards to evaluate the level of compiling the geography textbooks.Taking examples of the standard of ordinary high school curriculums, British geography textbook named World Geography Cases Studies, as well as the experimental geography textbooks in high schools published by the Popular Education Press in the 1920s on the mainland, the paper makes a contract and analysis to the textbook's features on the regional geography cases, the design of the cases, the way of display and the cultivation of the students' emotional attitudes and sense of worth, and this is based on the elaborations about the characteristics and types of the cases, the principles of the compiling, the essence of the curriculum and the theories on the education value.The author tries to compile the development cases along the Rhine River according to the requires of the related standards in the book named Geography Standers. It gives us a demonstration on the following four aspects, including the geography background of the exploitation along the Rhine River, the environmental problems and its cause of formation, the comprehensive exploitations along the Rhine River and the inspiration of the comprehensive exploitations along the rivers in our country, and it tries to verify it through the classroom teaching practice. Except that, it also tries to provide some valuable references on the regional geography teaching cases in accordance with our country's basic conditions.
