Teacher Training Students' Professional Values

Work values is an essential part of life values, and it is the reflection of life values in occupation. This study takes 823 normal college students as samples, and applies the Chinese version of Super's Work Values Inventory revised by Ning weiwei.In this research, the basic work values of these students and their perception of the future job as teachers are studied. The result shows:1.The characteristics of their work values: attaching more importance to living style, achievement, security, relationship with colleagues, and independence, while paying less attention to management, intelligence developing, aesthetic, and creativity, which reveals their focus on the realization of their value.2.Normal college students of different types have almost the same tendency in terms of work values.But as to the specific dimensions of work value,there do exist differences among students of different majors, grades,origins and application purpose.3.Normal college students have almost the same perception of the job as a teacher. They all think highly of its altruism and security, but think badly of its mobility and low salary, which is basically in accordance with the traditional perception. Students with different majors and job tendency may have difference in their perception of teachers.4.The work values of normal college students is directly proportional to their perception of teachers, and at the same time there exist distinct differences. This shows that there is certain gap between their work value and evaluation of the job as a teacher.5.As far as the job tendency is concerned, there are great differences among the students of different grades and places: those of higher grades or from rural area are more likely to choose teaching as their jobs than those of lower grade or from urban area.
