| This thesis explains the concept of the setting of modern Olympic items using the method of documentation, comprehensive analyzation, etc. ; makes analysis of the setting of Olympic items before and after World War II by looking back into the history with consideration of the items themselves and social factors; analises the current situation of the issue by looking at the percentage each item takes, the comparison of the development of male and female items, the authority and representativeness of the items, etc, and sees into some problems of the setting of the items; points out the basic trend of the setting of Olympic items, discusses some thinking and perspective of the setting of Olympic items, and finally comes to a conclusion and makes some suggestions.Looking at the changes of all the events of the previous Games, we will have a general idea of how big a study is the setting of the Olympic competitive events. First of all, the number of the athletes, the number of the entourages, the scale of the Olympic village, the number of stadiums and the facilities in them, the press and the telephone and radio communication equipment, the capacity of the transportation system, the routes, and even the living and touring arrangements are all have something to do with the events. Second, what events to set and what events to add will involve all those whose interest is related, such as IOC of different countries, unions of different events, and the workers of these different events. Third, how proper the setting of the Olympic events is influences how well the sustainable development of the Olympic Games goes, because the events are the main visible content of the Olympic, the quality of they are being done and the popularity they gain decide their influence and vitality. Each event has to been carefully selected to make possible the sustainable development of the Olympics. Only by making the setting of the events more and more rational can the Olympic really get suitable to the society and well serve the people. |
