Golf originated in ancient Scotland. It experienced500years of development andevolution. Nowadays, golf has been gradually going global and became a fashion sportswhich have characteristics in fitness, entertainment and athletics. From the point of its currentdevelopment situation, golf professionalization degree has been quite mature in the world andgradually formed a professional tour event frame that headed by the four grand slams and theRyder Cup, President Cup, and many other tournaments as assists. The four grand slamsevents include the American Masters, the US Open Championship, the British OpenChampionship, and the PGA tournament. It can be say that golf is one of the project whichprofessionalization development well in the world. Golf professionalization development inour country will be back in the1990s. In order to accelerate the pace of progress, our countryformally opened the golf professionalization development way since1993. Golf hasexperienced development and changes more than20years, and it has been made greatprogress whatever itself or the quantity and quality of athletes. In general, theprofessionalization development of golf has a relatively short time in our country. Under thecomprehensive effects of politics, development of economy, and the various factors of itself,the professionalization development of golf is always very hard.This paper uses literature material law, comparative analysis approach, and expertinterview method and so on, and it comprehensively and systematically analyses the presentsituation of golf professionalization development that mainly involve two aspects. One is thepresent situation of golf professional tournament in our country. This aspect includes the golfprofessional tournament’ set of organization and management, the whole scale situation ofgolf professional tournament, the present situation of athlete’s participation, the presentsituation of golf professional sponsorship in our country, and the present situation of mediatransmissions. Another one is personnel training situation of golf in our country. This aspectincludes the present situation of professional player training, professional caddies training,professional coaches training, and the professional referee training. As you can see, since golfstep on the professionalization road, it gets the great progress in various aspects, such as theestablishment of our country’s professional tour events, the increase of plays’ competitivelevel, and the gradually promoted social recognition, etc. However, the development of golfin China compared with the golf development level in the world, its professionalizationdevelopment level is still lower. Under the prompting of the Olympic Games, our country sets up golf team that realizesthe first transformation of training mode. From the perspective of athletic sportsprofessionalization development, under the whole nation system to carry on analyze andresearch of golf professionalization development. The research shows that golf step on theroad of the whole nation system that conforms to the trend of the sports professioanlizationdevelopment in China, but in terms of its development still exists many difficulties that needto face. These difficulties mainly reflected in four aspects. First, the lack of event organizationand management norms, and the system is not perfect. Second, the whole scale of golf eventsand overall competitive level is lower, and the events lack appreciation. Third, eventpromotion and development force is insufficient, and the event sponsored is too single. Fourth,the talent selection and cultivation mechanism of professional sports is not enough. Based onthese, I put forward the golf professionalization development plan in China in the future:deepen the system reform, increase the policy support, clear association’s power andresponsibility; learning international experience, integration of domestic competition, unifiedspecification standards; intensify the power of publicity, make full use of media effect, makesthe high-quality goods game; Use of star power, actively guide the market, to promotecommercial sponsorship diversification; pay attention to the training of athletic talent,strengthen the echelon construction; pay attention to the foster of management talents,encouraging the golf research.
