With the accelerating pace of globalization, there is an urgent need for higher level international business people. Communication is at the heart of business activities for solving relative problems. Therefore, higher standards should be set for business communication teaching. Business communication is divided into oral communication and written communication. From the research perspective, written communication is often regarded as tangible and stable. This thesis applies the genre theory and needs analysis theory to the inquiries into the construct of business communicative competence, and to the discussion of how to cultivate written business communicating competence, pointing out that generic competence plays an important role in the construct, and exploring further the genre-based business communication teaching model. In addition, this thesis comes up with a business communication teaching approach in order to develop learners' awareness of genre, which advocates integrating the genre-based teaching method, scaffolding methods, and an evaluation of teaching outcomes. The objective of this research is to help students learn language use strategies in real settings, meet communicative purpose better, and improve the ability of language use.
