Tujia nationality is one of the chief ethnic groups in southwestern China. This ethic group people mainly live in the Wu Ling mountain area, which is the junction of Hunan province, Hubei province, Chongqing municipality, and Guizhou province. It's an old nationality but of vigor and vitality, with a long and brilliant history. With the passing of time, Tujia nationality form a series of ethic concepts and moral conventions, which adapt to its value orientation and code of conduct. However, among them, marriage etiquette is something special. In this thesis, by studying the Tujia marriage form and etiquette in western Hunan(Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie and Huaihua included), analysing the backgrounds and historical reasons of marrying conventions, the author would summarize the main notions and opinions of Tujia nationality toward marriage. Besides, the author would also try to find the connotation and feature of Tujia nationality's marriage ethnics, at the same time, to search after its inheriting and subliming ways in the background of developing new country and building an harmonious society. Correct ethnic connotation would give some theory supports to Tujia marriage form, and it would also do much good to understand the marriage cultures of Tujia nationality.In this paper, the author would make a brief introduction to Tujia nationality in Western Hunan. From the aspects of marriage form, marriage formula, and marriage convention, the author would outline the main patterns of Tujia's marriage ethnics. By analysing the features of Tujia's marriage morality, and studying its nature, the paper would investigate the current value of the marriage morality of Tujia nationality in Western Hunan.
