Based on the previous theoretical research, this study explores and analyzes the gender differences of mental errors aspect in mathematics problems solving among middle school students through the qualitative (literature review) and quantitative (empirical studies) methods and by the statistical analysis. The reasons of the research results are further indicated and explained from the perspective of psychology, sociology, education, and related measures and proposals are further put forward. The thesis is mainly made up of four parts:The first part is the production of research questions, which mainly uses the literature review method to make comprehensive illustrations from the aspects of problem solutions, types of errors, and gender differences both at home and abroad. And then it discusses the research orientations and significances. The second part is the literature review, which defines and differentiates the related concepts in this study combined with the existing theory. In the meanwhile, the types of errors in mathematical problems solving are categorized and classified. The third part is the part of empirical study, selected psychological error as the perspective which is discussed and illustrated from the choice of research methods and analysis of investigation data. By using random sampling method, the high school students are selected to help further investigation. And by using the SPSS13.0 statistical analysis, the survey data is further processed and analyzed. The conclusions are as follows:(1)psychological error is one of the most important factors in solving mathematical problems among high school students.(2)there were significant gender differences of psychological errors in solving mathematics problems among high school students. The fourth part is the teaching suggestions. This thesis concludes the following teaching instructions combined with the research results.(1)address the mathematical learning of gender differences, foster a correct view of gender differences;(2) take a targeted teaching methods based on gender differences in mathematics learning. (3) gender differences should be exploited as an educational resource.Innovations of this paper are:various investigation modes such as the application of Internet; the analysis of psychological errors in gender differences in the perspective of the types of errors; the analysis of the factors leading to these differences, and the elaborations of the corresponding teaching suggestions.
