Virtual Idols was born in five years before, when the network society was beginning to soar up. Through years of development of internet, with the introducing of SNS techniques, the wave of virtual idols has been pushed to a peak, and reached crazy impact onto network society. As the very year of virtual idols,2009 can be remembered for having attracted the broadest public attention by virtual idols. And actually, we can believe that virtual idol has been proved as a cultural trend in network society, not just an accidental phenomenon. In order to demonstrate the relationship between virtual idols and the culture of virtual communities, this essay explored how cyber citizens assemble as ethnic groups by expressing themselves and setting up the recognition to a group culture in the environment of network, and then form a specific community culture to reflect the culture of real society. The study of online ethnic groups, especially the followers of virtual idols has proved that they (the followers) are the main constructors of the group culture. They attracted broad attention to virtual idols by creating themes, discussing and expressing on SNS network to set up an image of virtual idol, and then spreading out. From the other side, as a symbol of specific culture, virtual idols has represented an ethic group culture of the followers, and presenting features of diversification, dynamics and lack of meaning. As the sub-culture of network culture, ethic group culture has an obvious characteristic of "verisimilitude", and reflects the statement of real society culture.
