Summary:Swimming has been developed for more than 100 years since it was selected as an official sport competition of the Olympic Games. In the 1st Olympic Games, there was only three individual swimming sports for male athletes and none for female, but now it includes thirty-two sports for both male and female athletes. The swimming training has also reached a very high level from none to have, from simple technical improvement to the integrated use of a variety of training methods and means, from the simple exercise to notice the pursuit of combining with exercise intensity and distribution, from the developing the athletes to emphasize both technology and special physical ability. Following the further research and understanding of swimming nature, swimming technology development also enters a new stage. Any country in international sports competition willing to win and consolidate its position needs not only a good athlete team or strong backup power, but also to pay more attention to the development of supportive talents. Athletics, swimming, shooting and wrestling were determined as the key projects of Shaanxi sports development strategy in 2000's Shaanxi sports work conference. As the economic center of Shaanxi province, Xian has a very important position. To raise the swimming competitive level of Xi'an will greatly influence the whole province. The children's amateur swimming training will greatly back up the swimming competitive. In order to obtain substantial progresses and the overall strength of improving steadily, we must pay more attention to children's swimming amateur training. So the research on the situations and measures of the children's swimming amateur training in XI'AN has important significance.The process of this research adopts literature study, expert interview, questionnaire and mathematical statistics, the comprehensive analysis etc. The research objects including coaches, training personnel and parents of the children's monthly points races in Nov.2007 and Apr.2008 of Xi'an City, which amounts to 620 people. The analysis comes up with proposals for the children's swimming amateur training of Xi'an, and also afford real and detailed material for the training of children competitive talents, what's more, also provide references for decision-making departments and children's competitive swimming developments of Xi'an.This paper analyzes and studies the children's swimming amateur training situation of Xi'an, and comes up with proposals for problems and developments in the children's swimming amateur training. Conclusions and recommendations are as follows:Xi'an Children's Amateur Swimming has been formed jointly organized by the Government and the social situation, this pattern in Xi'an Children's swimming training plays good role in promoting. However, in terms of scale, social organization's swimming amateur training still has some limitations. I Suggest that the government of Xi'an should strengthen the training team of social organizations, and promote the communications between social organizations and government organizations, and expand training to promote children's swimming in Xi'an, for the good amateur training and rapid development.Most scientific selection of coach, physiological, biochemical, biomechanics, psychology and selection index of master degree of material,the applications of applied science instruments,mostly poor ability to experience, can't ensure selection of type, and also do not have a high level of scientific training. Suggestions for swimming competition with high levels of successful experience, and led by strengthening leadership, expand the material selection of scientific work scope and conditions, form scientific selection, establish a scientific system of network selection system. Through the study of other provinces and cities for children to swim amateur training of successful experience, suitable for children swimming training of Xi'an years training plan. Additionally, smooth communication channel and high level of athletic talents training and professional training to spare, promote each other, make swimming amateur training more scientific.Xi'an children swimming athlete training period is shorter, athletes training time and frequency were not reach the requirements. Competitions organized by the government and relevant departments is too few, inadequate incentive systems, affecting the children's swimming training, enthusiasm, and impede the competitive level of Xi'an Children's swimming, and further improved. Suggested that schools by strengthening the management of the training of athletes to ensure that adequate training athletes, the frequency and duration, so that more systematic training. The government should hold verity forms of competition, improve the athlete's athletic ability and psychological qualities. Improve the incentive system for athletes, the school won the excellence in the performance of the athletes to increase rewards efforts.Children's swimming team coaches are mainly middle-aged intermediate grade, The proportion of high, medium and the beginning of Title coaches is quite reasonable,coaches have high-quality talents, the age structure reasonable. From the perspective of the titles they have a high professional level.However, highly educated, high title coaches is few,most of the coaches are physical education teachers, whose professional skills is lack, professional training is too little to meet the requirements of modern scientific training. Coaches'high level scientific research, scientific research and technological innovation, and concept is relatively weak. Advice:through multi-channel organizations or various forms of exchange and study with the outside world, increase attention to the job training and continuing education,take the appointment mechanism of competition, and other ideas to improve the quality and amateur level of coachesContradictions are between athletes' learning and training.Parents are uncontent with children engaged in swimming training and think the training courses on culture have ill influence on culture learning,do not want their children taking the road of vocational training to swim the road. Advice: through the ideological education of students and taking credit-incentive system,let athletes put attention to cultural lesson, coaches can arrange scientific training, have efforts to coordinate the study and training Contradictionsthe shortage of training funds, training facilities and the lack of training equipment, schools economic input can not meet training needs. Coach have bad treatment; Advice:mobilizing social forces, and increasing publicity, through the sponsorship of enterprises, units and individuals, resolve a shortage of equipment to strengthen the building of venues. In addition to coaches, incentive measures are developed to mobilize the enthusiasm of the majority of coaches.
