In order to improve the life quality of people and create a comfortable living space, smart home system with safe, convenient, intelligent and unique charm has a great signi-ficance and also has a broad market prospects.Although it hasn't set a trend like DVD, PC, mobile phones and other household appliances, the popularity of the smart home will be inevitable.The background of this thesis is the proposal posted by the Kunming North Star Digital S&T Ltd, which is aiming fit the intelligent appliance into modern community service platform. After discussion and verification of the probability, our laboratory have finished the preparatory work for this project, including the related research and the experiment.The origin and development of home control system are discussed and related technology are analyzed in the thesis.we propose a method which utilizes zigbee to realize the interconnection between inside appliances and a mobile terminal is needed to communicate home with the outside. The general design and details of Zigbee and ARM-based wireless home control system (part of the detection) are given in the thesis as follows:1. Use the messaging function of GPRS module to realize the communication between home and outside. The method of coding/decoding Chinese SMS on embedded system is discussed after analyzing submit/dispatch and code/decode of Chinese SMS.2. AdoptμC/OS-Ⅱas software platform and LPC2294 as controlling chip which has low power and high reliability. Submit/dispatch of SMS, Zigbee communications module and detection function of home switch status are realized under modularization idea.3. House hold appliances are connected by Zigbee technique in order to form the home network. Net data exchange protocol is designed to ensure the reliability of communication.4. House appliance control module and the related programming based on the CC2430 detection part are developed.Testing of the remote home control system reach expected result.Combining with above the design of control section and testing section and under the laboratory conditions, the entire control can run normally by testing. Its rate of controlling correct has reached 98%.Testing show that the system is convenient, universal and respons-ing quickly, and can detect home accurately as well as meet the needs of daily life.
