The question was how to find, locate and predict errors or quality reducing in IPTV system.In recent years, the studies of IPTV monitoring and management system have become an important part of the development in the IPTV system. Several methods for monitoring and analysis the quality of IPTV have been applied with a wide range at home and abroad。These methods or systems could perform well at core or the source (part of sending), but they could not be so suitable at part of receiving (STB). Because the circumstances at part of receiving are more complex, those methods or systems could not reflect the real situation at receiving part well, that cause the concept of monitoring and comparing throughout the IPTV service chain deficiencies.With induction of actual error experience and inheriting the system used at core or source side, a method to test the service quality at STB side, which including the media stream network quality(MDI), EPG analysis, signaling analysis and indicates of STB video output will introduce in this article.
