Mobile Ad hoc network is a special peer-to-peer network which is infrastructureless, self-organizing, dynamically reconfiguration and mobile, and it is very vulnerable to a wide variety of attacks. This paper mainly discusses the influence of network performance under internal attacks in MANET and security routing protocol. This paper addresses to the security issues in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). First, the existing research on security is reviewed and the current routing protocols of MANET are analyzed and summarized. And then two different internal attack models, active attack model and self attack model, are established. We analyze the influence of the two attack models to DSR and AODV routing protocol. Simulation results show that these two attack models can affect the network performance in a great degree, and the active attack model makes the network performance much worsen. According to the two attack models, this paper presents a security routing protocol based on Reputation Systems. This protocol adopts the Reputation Systems to judge the behavior of nodes, and have the characters of distribution and cooperation. A defense model based on this security protocol is established on DSR protocol. Through simulation of defense model and attack model, we can draw a conclusion that this security routing protocol based on Reputation Systems can get better performance on packets delivery ratio and loss ratio.
