With the development of the society, we wish to keep connection with the Internet and get service performance as well as connection with Internet in fixed access point when moving. But IP doesn't provide enough function to support node move. As a component of IPv6, the function of Mobile IPv6 is to provide mobile support for mobile node. But as a protocol in developing, some aspects of Mobile IPv6 are not perfect.The handover character of Mobile IPv6 and its proposed enhancements has been analysed in this paper. Furthermore, the advantage and shortcoming of these protocols has been pointed out. The request and the impact on protocol entities of mobile IPv6 have been illuminated.Through the analysis of existed protocols, an improved scheme that is Fast Handover based on HMIPv6 has been proposed in this paper. The purpose of this scheme is to optimize the handoff delay and protocol message loading. Using for reference of HMIPv6's hierarchy character, the move of mobile node has been divided into two types, Macro Mobility and Micro Mobility.In this way, the impact on network of Micro mobility which send many update packets to network has been confined in local. At the same time, in order to decrease the handoff delay when handover, some handover policy of Fast Handover of Mobile IPv6 has been introduced, which make our scheme have advantage of both HMIPv6 and FMIPv6.But we can't merge this two protocols simply, some optimization has been made according to the fact. Surrounding this thinking, how to introduce FMIPv6 into HMIPv6 has been discussed, furthermore, the case when network move and the Third handover have been introduced to this scheme has also been discussed Man has proposed many methods to test the validity and related performance of a protocol, the most popular method is to simulate the protocol in virtual circumstance. We conducted a performance evaluation of the proposed scheme using the network simulator NS, and make a comparation of performance to other proposed enhancements in this paper. And in this way, the validity of our proposed scheme has been proved.
