With the development of internet and communication technology as well as the dvelopment of the whole society, people's life style has changed a lot and mobile network has become an integral part of people's life. Mobile IPv6 emerged on the basis of Mobile IPv4 as the times require, providing a better support for the mobile network. However, some problems still existed in the present Mobile IPv6 FTP, and that's why the new improved FMIPv6 emerged, which greatly shortened the late binding and update delay as well as loss ratio in MIPv6. However, the introduction of tunnel technology relatively increased the network overhead, the process of binding update was not optimized, and its functions needed to be improved.IPv6 (FMIPv6) detects the new access route with appendix lower layer protocolsdetective mechanism, and then reduces switch delay through preregistration. But the network layer handoff achieving by FMIPv6 protocol needs an extra setting up of mobile agency, which increases the complexity of the network and aggravates the burden on a router. SCTP is an end to end transport layer protocol, which is based on the connection-oriented of information flow. mSCTP is a kind of SCTP protocol with dynamic address configuration function, and it combines the multi-hometownspecialty with dynamically adding, removing and changing the address, so as to better support the end-to-end performance of mobility.To cope with the overhead and delay caused during the establishment of the tunnel and the process of binding update, the scheme of mSCFHS has been put forward, in which mSCTP was used to realizing fast switch. mSCFHS achieves ncoa with second floor trigger mechanism, integrates the network layer of the toggle switch with the transport layer, removes the process of establishing the tunnel,simplifies the binding update action through the DAR reconfiguration of dynamic url, and maximally reduces switch delay caused by the process of binding update.Simulation results show that mSCFHS has a better performance compared with FMIPv6, especially in the aspect of switch delay and loss ratio.The essay deals with, firstly a detail introduction of concepts, operations and procedures related to mobile IPv6 and SCTP, then an exploration of several relevant protocols of Mobile IPv6 such as HMIPv6, F-HMIPv6 and so on, it specifically studies the designing idea, working mechanism and operating procedures of FMIPv6 and mSCTP, and analyzes the existent problem. After that, on the basis of mSCTP, a new fast switch scheme mSCFHS is put forward. Finally, on the network simulator NS-2 platform, the author carried out the simulation of the improved protocol and gained the experimental data. According to the functions analysis of the simulation results, mSCFHS has a better performance compared with FMIPv6, especially in the aspect of switch delay and loss ratio.
