| With the rapid development and broad application of the technique of computer,network and communication,the test by means of network has been emphasized more and more, it must bring about the revolutionary changes in the field of the measurement."Network is Instrument"generalizes the trend of networked instrument and measurement. Configuring the networked automatic test system not only can share the more resources, reduce the cost which is used to configure the traditional system, but also can strengthen the function of the test system, broaden the range of its application. The technique of Ethernet is the most prevalent computer network technology, which has high communicational rate, simple protocol and low price of hardware. Ethernet protocol follows the IEEE802.3 standard and adopts CSMA/CD protocol to avoid the collision of medium access. The GPIB instrumental system is a good exemplification of the combination of modern measurement and computer. It is a measurement system, and in this system, the instruments are interconnected through the outer bus of computer. It follows the IEEE488 standard. which is the first choice for configuring the ATS.The GPIB instruments based on Ethernet can realize sharing the resources and accessing the instruments remotely in the local area network. We can configure a high efficient ATS by means of it in the LAN and improve the rate of use of the instruments greatly. In the paper chapter one introduces the background and significance about designing the GPIB controller based on Ethernet. Chapter two describes the whole design idea of the controller, at the same time, introduces ENET protocol, TCP/IP protocol and other associating protocols. Chapter three discusses the hardware and firmware design of ENET-GPIB controller. Chapter four describes how to realize the dynamic link library functions and VISA functions of the controller. Chapter five collogues the trend of ATS. Chapter six summaries the design and give some experience and advice about scientific research. |
