Firstly, the characteristic and function of the crime-scene information are introduced in paper, and the importance of introducing new techniques to take full advantage of the crime-scene information is explained.Secondly, Web service and Web service security model are introduced. And a method is given for integrating information. It takes full advantage of .NET framework Business process module is sealed in Web service to offer interface to application program and provide the ability to access distributed heterogeneous data source. Three kinds of security model of Web service and Web service security architecture based on .NET platform are discussed, and a method that can construct safe and steady Web service application based on platform/transport level security model and on characteristic of the .NET platform is put forward and idiographic parameters configuration is offeredThirdly, the principle and method of fingerprint identification are studied deeply in this paper. Because in the routine fingerprint identification algorithms the fingerprint images are easily affected by rotation and motion, the way of minutiae extraction is trivial and the matching speed is slow, a new algorithms based on information of lines' direction is presented. The algorithm is proved accurate, quick, and invariable to translation and rotation of images in practice.Finally, a crime-scene information system based on Web service and fingerprint recognition technology is analyzed and designed. Many applied functions are provided by this system, such as querying crime-scene information by several means, analyzing case information, bunching and merging cases intelligently, recognizing fingerprint, processing digital images, creating and printing many kinds of reports, etc. Data integration is performed with Web service, and the structure of BWD combining with C/S is constructed, and access managed strictly. The system is affirmed by users on easy to operate, security, functional integrality and expansibility. It is indicated that this research and development production has validity and practicability.
