Integration Of Technology Research, Web Service-based Electronic Medical Records

Along with the development of information technology and the transformation of the hospital's way in operation, the information system have been the base of hospital at present. In our country there are some soft and equipment about medical treatment system, which block the share of the information, because they use different standard and the different format of information. The medical treatment institutions become the lonely island of information. The network of medical data exchange will help to improve people's health level, boost medical informationization and enhance hospital's international intercommunion.The electronic medical records can provide more precise, clear and real-time information. Furthermore, different medical equipment can transfer medical records and acquire patients' medical records by networking which can also ensure the continuum of medical care even with patient referral. By exchanging and sharing medical records, it is possible to prevent the fraud and abuse of medical resource and saving the medical costs.In this paper, we develop an electronic patient record (EPR) exchange system based on HL7/XML standard by using Web Service. The clinical document architecture (CDA) provides a medical document standard which be used for medical information exchange. The CDA adopts XML to define complete medical information. We also present the technology of Web Service which makes HTTP protocol more efficient in a distributed environment and improve the restriction and defect of current closed medical information system.
