The Fiber Channel (FC) standard which emerges at the end of 1990s concurrently has the superiority of the high speed network and the I/O channel controls , Supports many kinds of transmission medium, transmission speed, topology and upper level protocol (ULP), Now it has developed into one kind of high band width, low cost, strong real-time and extendible well solution in high speed embedded network domain. Specially in avionics domain, the overseas advanced airplane has positively accepted the optical fiber channel as the essential aircraft-borne interconnect network technology. Therefore, according to our country avionics aircraft-borne network further development demand and technical feasibility, we select FC as the avionics communications system branch network to carry on the research analysis and technical confirmation is extremely essential.This paper introduced the FC technology origin and characteristic, the FC protocol structure and FC network interface card function principle. The FC upper level mapping protocol FCP and the avionics environment FC-AE-FCLP has been carried on the careful analysis, including the hiberarchy of FCP and FCLP, FC frame and exchange mapping mechanism of FCP, equipment structure, communication principle and communication model of FCLP and so on. Take the FCLP principle as the foundation, designed and developed the FCLP communication prototype system under the Windows2000 platform. The system level structure contains the API level, the protocol processing level and the hardware connection level, the main work is the API level and the protocol processing level . At the base of system function division, emphatically elaborated the channel connection management model and the data transmission model. Afterwards, make the performance improvement for the FCLP communications system under embedded VxWorks system real-time platform, the main improvement is the improvement on the interrupt service process and the buffer copy aspect, realized data receiving and dispatching "zero copy", has greatly promoted the communication performance.With analyzing in theory and experimentalizing in fact, The FCLP communications system extremely suits the great data quantity reliable transmission, owning good application prospect in the avionics network communication domain.
