Voip Terminal Based On The Freescale Mcf5235 And Ecos Operating System Design

VOIP is a new technology which combins the Internet technology and traditional telecom technology. Compared with traditional telecom technology, VOIP is a cheaper technology with brighter prospect. This technology is based on a series of other technology, such as DSP, Multimedia and Internet and so on. NGN era will come soon, traditional telecom network will sink into depravity, it will become to the verge of the core network. The situation that a network only can provide on service will disappear at last, and a network based on packet switch which can provide all services needed will instead of it. VOIP technology which based on SIP protocol just satisfies the NGN's need, this technology bases on packet switch and is very easy to expand. Now more and more services is supported by SIP protocol.This paper introduces a prospect of VOIP technology, which is known as VOIP temininal. This terminal use Freescale MCF5235 as its hardware platform. This design realized all main service of VOIP on the low-cost 32-bits embedded platform, so it is valueable in both economy prospect and technology prospect.At first, this paper introduce VOIP knowledge, which includes call control technology, media transport technology and audio codec. Then this paper describes the designation of the VOIP teminal, which includes system architechture design, software module interfaces design and the realization of all services of VOIP. Then this paper describes the test plan and the result. At last, this paper introduces a suggestion to apply this design in other type of network.Last, farther researches direction is pointed out in the end.
