With the rapid development of information society, there is various of multimedia information in the Internet. Owing to the rapid communication and convenience of Internet, more and more people are choosing it as the approach to transfer messages. Thereby, requesting fairly high security in order to send and put out information safely for both individual and government is very important. So the information security techniques are born. The information security is involved in many fields .In this thesis, the main contents are steganography techniques, in which the static images are applied as carriers.This dissertation is mainly focused on analysis and detection techniques of steganography in images. The concepts in this dissertation keep abreast of the international steganography research progress. Basis on probing into the essence of steganography systems and analyzing the existing steganography software and the latest information in the world, this dissertation proposes several practical and reliable algorithms. The main contribution of this dissertation is summarized as follows:First, as the main research field of steganography usually take the image as its carrier, based on classifying and analyzing of the image carrier, this dissertation focuses on some basic statistics characteristics. These characteristics in carrier images include the random distribution of each bit plane, the correlation of bit planes, the difference characteristic in natural images, and so on.Second some new detection algorithms which are aimed at LSB Stagonoraphy Algorithm have been proposed. These algorithms, which have good detection performance of stabilization and correct ratio can be used in grayscale image and color image detection, are based on the detection of characteristics of carriers (usually image carrier). The carrier characteristics include the correlation between bit planes, the energy relation between pixels and so on.At the end ,this dissertation ueses use the detection algorithms of chi-square to detect the hidden massage . It proposes a new approach to avoide the disadvantage of this algorithm. Experiments show an encouraging result that is comparable to previous techniques.These algorithms contribute to the analysis and detection in the following aspects: make sure whether there is any hiding information in the target carrier or not; identify the steganography algorithm used in the carrier; estimate the length of embedded information; estimate the position of the embedded information, and so on. The advantage and disadvantage of different kinds of detection algorithms are analyzed and compared in this dissertation.
