With high-speed development of digital technology, especially the increasing use of digital computing and signal processing technology in applications such as medical imaging, instrumentation and telecommunications, it is becoming common to deal with analog signal with digital circuits. So digitalizing analog signal is the trend of information technology, in which ADC plays an important role.Firstly, this thesis introduces appearance, development, function and technical prospect of ADC in the modern electronic technology. The thesis aslo states the main terms, parameters of ADC. Meanwhile, several kinds of ADC system and their characteristics are studied in this thesis. Then choose the duel-slope ADC as an object to study. Beginning with the principle of the duel-slope ADC, the thesis analyzes its function and characteristics, then puts the system into some sub-modules to further research. The operational-amplifier's constraints of gain and bandwidth can be deduced by analyzing the error of the ADC. While in the digital part, it is been aborded some components to realize the same logic function comparable to traditional circuit, which saves the areas and depletion of the chip. The author finishes the measurement of the ADC and the typical application design, and introduces the application notes. Finally the conclusion comes out.Althrough there are unavoidable disadvantages of this thesis, it is a worthwhile andvaluable experience, especially for the study of ADC applied in the measurement.
