With the rapid development of intelligent identification technology, Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) has been playing an important role during people's life, especially the one working on UHF and Microwave band, which always utilizes back scattering modulation method to accomplish the whole communication. Correspondently, the research on the core technology of RFID seems to be urgent. In this dissertation, novel methods as well as meaningful concepts aimed at the tag antenna designing are presented in order to give some universal guidance except for particular ASIC application.According to the Standard of EPC C1G2 as well as the requirement for the large ratio between length and width of tag antenna in the actual environment, two novel compact antennas are designed, the folded dipole antenna and the fractal loaded dipole antenna. The research on the impedance and Gain affected by the antenna structure is accomplished. After that, the Radar Cross Section of antenna is analyzed. Finally, aiming at the Monza2 of Impinj Corporation, the concrete size of antenna is given to meet the demands on the impedance matching and Gain.1. The compact folded dipole antenna is designed on base of calculation and HFSS optimization, which finally comes to a size of 122×3mm, Gain 2.41dB ,ΔRCS 2.5dB on condition of modulation. With the structure, range between 13 ~102Ωfor resistance and 218 ~ 300Ωfor reactance can be obtained to meet the impedance requirement of Monza2 on the UHF band.2. The fractal loaded dipole antenna is designed on base of Hilbert fractal unit and HFSS optimization, which finally comes to a size of 114×6mm, Gain2.24dB ,ΔRCS 3.2dB on condition of modulation. With the structure, range between 21~ 48Ωfor resistance and 145 ~ 452Ωfor reactance can be obtained to partially meet the impedance requirement of Monza2 on the UHF band.
