Study On The Application And Estimation Of Gini Coefficient

Gini Coeffcient is an economic indicator to measure the gap between rich and poor for a country or a region. The Gini Coeffcient is in the range of 0 and 1, the warning line is 0.4 by the international. In this paper, we make thorough study of Gini Coeffcient of Heilongjiang Province, and we o?ers a cursory analysis of the Gini Coeffcient among areas.In this dissertation, we use three methods to estimate the Gini Coeffcient of Heilongjiang Province. The ?rst method is urban and rural decomposition; The second method is the weighted average method; The last method is urban and rural data hybrid sorting method. We use the control variables method to analyse the in?uence factors of rural residents, urban residents and Heilongjiang Province.We use the isometic packet datas method to calculate Gini Coeffcient among our country’s regions.The results shows that the gap between rich and poor of Heilongjiang Province is larger. The main in?uence factors of the Gini Coeffcient are the income gap of urban residents in Heilongjiang province, but the gap between the rich and the poor among the regions of our country is average.
