Critical illness insurance is always welcomed by people and is always the hot product since it is introduced in to China. In modern society, the disease incidence rate enhancing, as well as the medical expense day by day, many people have no excess to seeing a doctor, especially to the low income in city and the peasant, so the phenomenon of "disease into poverty" is very prominent. The development of critical illness insurance is impotent to the society.Now, critical illness insurance product has became the impotent safeguard product in the life insurance market, and in 2012, the insurance premium received 40,600,000,000 Yuan, accounted for 54.7% of health insurance premium of our country. Our country is also the biggest critical illness insurance market in the word. In 2006, the standard consumer in illness definition of critical illness insurance enabled the definition of critical illness to have the unified standard in entire profession, reduced the trouble as the people selected and purchased the product, and also reduced the dispute of settlement of claim. However, there are also many problems of critical illness insurance at present, in aspects as product design, product fixed price, product sale and post-sale service and so on. This article takes China Ping an Life Insurance Branch in GuizHou as an example, thus through methods and so on questionnaire investigation and interview, investigate various links of critical illness insurance and study to find the problem and the reasons, and proposed the pointed suggestion as so to provide the beneficial reference in healthy development of the critical illness insurance.The article takes an insurance company (China Ping an Life Insurance Branch in GuizHou) as an example, carefully examines critical illness insurance from the company and the customer two angles to insure the problem of it, uses the interview method (company interior staff) and the questionnaire investigation (company’s customer) separately to understand the present situation, the question and the reason. Finally these questions uses four links of the product design, the product fixed price, the product sale, the claim settlement serve to pass through and classify. Then, suggestions are given separately from the product design, the product fixed price, the product sale, the claim settlement and follow-up serves. However, the question studying and perfecting suggestion is no strict one-to-one correspondences, but has mutually overlapping.The primary coverage of this article has five parts:The first part is the introduction, covering background and significance of research, litetature review, researching ideas and methodology, innovatioin and deficiency.The second part is the related overview and the theoretical basis, which simply introduced the connotation, shape and the insurance responsibility of the critical illness insurance, and then after stated the theoretical basis of this article:information asymmetry theory and overall marketing idea.The third part is the product introduction and the question research of critical illness insurance product operation, taking China Ping an Life Insurance Branch in GuizHou for example. First, introduced the development status of critical illness insurance and gave examples to introduce critical illness insurance product; Next, found the problems of critical illness insurance through interview method and the questionnaire investigation; Finally in this foundation, analyzed the problems existing in critical illness insurance product operation from the product design, the product fixed price, the product sale and the claim settlement serves four aspects.The forth part, critical illness insurance consummate suggestions. The product design, the product fixed price, the product sale, the claim settlement and follow-up servers four aspects are proposed.The last part is the conclusion and prospect of the thesis.The thesis may have several innovations as follows:About the material, this thesis takes China Ping an Life Insurance Branch in GuizHou as an example, utilizes the newest critical illness insurance product (for example "Pingan Fu health care plan 2014") to perform the concrete analysis on the problem.About the structure layout, the product operation problems of critical illness insurance are elaborated from the product design, the product pricing, the product sale and the claim settlement services. And suggestions are given from the product design, the product pricing, the product sale, the claim settlement and follow-up services four aspects.About the perspective, the author knew that, the main problem in the claim settlement link is the higher loss ratio and more settling disputes, through to interview people within the company. The reasons of high loss ratio is related to the disease incidence rate, the adverse selection and moral hazard, the sale and the underwriting; and the primary cause of settling disputes is misrepresentation, misunderstanding from the customer to the contract, contract itself not reasonably, sales misleading and so on. In view of the increasing incidence condition in the modern society, the author suggested to health management on the critical illness insurance customers, such as health records management services and so on to reduce morbidity, improve the quality of life, ultimately reduce the loss ratio.The deficiency of this paper lies in the number of the questionnaire some shortage, lacking further quantitative analysis for the questionnaire, and some countermeasures and suggestions somewhat general, not specific enough.
