Research On Financing Channel Of High - Speed Railway Construction In China

High-speed railway is a basic industry for the national development. It has the advantages of less occupied area, high speed, low energy consumption, high efficiency and industrial organization optimization. Based on these advantages, many countries have been especially keen to build high-speed railway. However, the rapid development of high-speed railway leads to a huge amount of debt and the funding gap which China’s high-speed railway project generated. At present, China’s high-speed railway construction face on severe financial situation, there are many problems in financing, such as narrow financing channels, single investment subject and high debt ratio. If these problems can not be solved, this will hinder the development of China’s high-speed railway, and hinder the development of social economy. Consequently, how to broaden the financing channels of high-speed railway project has been a big problem for China. This paper mainly focuses on exploring financing channels for high-speed rail.On the basis of previous studies, according to China’s national conditions and China’s high-speed rail development and financing situation, this paper analyzes the traditional financing channels which has been applied in China’s high-speed railway construction and four kind of different project financing advantages and disadvantages. At last, this paper puts forward some improvable suggestions on the financing channels according to the status of China’s high-speed railway. The study will make a contribution to promoting sound and rapid development of high-speed railway construction in China.
