Research On Supply Chain Management Of Multi - Variety Small - Batch Manufacturing Enterprise

Supplier chain management plays a very important role in enterprises, so it is in manufacturing enterprises. It is often decided by supply chain Whether the enterprise can keep sustainable supply. There are different features in the products and operation links including procurement and production and storage and transportation and others. For purpose of solving each of these different characteristics, it must result a series of corresponding problems of supply chain. Therefore, the different characteristics of the enterprise and its solutions to the problems are not the same. The features of multi-variety and small-batch to the enterprises results in that their suppliers don’t emphasize service to them and the supply quality is unstable and the lead time is very long. All of these are not useful for stable supply chain. After research for the features and current situations of SS company supply chain and other companies’successful cases, this thesis suggests the solutions to solve the supply chain problems of SS company.In the structure, this thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is for introduction, it introduces the backgrounds and research meaning, and collect the current research situations in China and abroad. And it also introduces the research mentality and methods.The second chapter set out the theories for next chapters. Related supply chain theories and concepts and features of multi-variety and small-batch enterprises are introduced in these this chapter.The third chapter introduces three successful cases of multi-variety and small-batch which sets out the solutions for SS company supply chain problems.The forth chapter introduces the current supply chain status of SS company and exist problems. And the fifth chapter suggests the solutions for current supply chain problems.The six chapter is for conclusions and shortcomings of the thesis.On the content, the research object of this thesis is SS company, the main features of their products are:(1) Multi-variety, small-batch, the total demand is very small;(2) Multi-variety raw material species and high customized requirement;(3) High technical requirements and frequent design changes;(4) High quality requirement for the part appearance;(5) Complex and long flow for the product certification.These characteristics result in that there are the following problems in SS company’s supply chain:(1) The supplier is unwilling to cooperate with SS company and the quality of purchased parts is unstable;(2) High manufacturing cost for the packaging materials which results in high purchasing price, delivery frequency cannot meet the requirements of SS company;(3) The rate of inventory turnover is very low, the labor cost for the management of C-parts materials.Basing on the basic theory of Supply Chain Management and some theories related to supplier management and enterprise management theory related to multi-variety & small-batch products characteristics, the thesis researched the current status of the supply chain management of SS company including procurement management, production management and inventory materials management, and then the thesis found the current problems and the root cause of the problems. At the same time, the thesis suggested the solutions for these problems basing on other 3 company’s advanced management cases: Localization strategy of G medical company, Standard management for tooling design of Z company, Smart Bin management of M company. These solutions include:1) to strengthen the degree of localization and improve the total demand; 2) to realize the integration and optimization of packaging specification through the involvement of the R&D department; 3) to carry out Smart Bin management for C-parts and decrease the labor cost for C-parts management.In solutions, emphasis-degree is improved through strengthening localization to increase the total demand. And the interest-degree is improved through solving the problems of many variety and small batch basing on packing materials’integration and optimization. And the stock turnover rate is speeded up through Smart-bin management for C-parts which decreases the supply chain management cost.Totally, the interest from the supplier is improved and at the same time the supply chain management cost is decreased. It improves the competitive level and ensures the supply chain stable and continuous.
