R & D Investment, Organizational Learning Order And Corporate Performance: A Comparative Case Study

R&D investment is the core power for manufacturing enterprises’development.it is very meaningful to explore the impact on firm performance. R&D investment is a dynamic process, and the organization learning has played an extremely important role in the whole process. However, what kind of role does the organizational learning play in the R&D investment? How do organizational learning and the R&D investment affect the corporate performance? Theorists haven’t give a clear answer yet. Under the premise of integrating the theory of the R&D investment and the organizational learning theory, we established the theoretical study architecture from the perspective of corporate performance,and choose two typical equipment manufacturing enterprises as the research object. Using longitudinal comparative case study method, Inspecting the correlation between enterprises’R&D investment and corporate performance, analyze what’s the different roles does the different organizational learning sequence play in R&D investments. Study results showed that four kinds of organizational learning processes(seeding type, solo type, counseling, enhanced) played a significant role in the process of the R&D investment; companies choose different organizational learning in the rapid development, For the exploration period of the enterprise,sowing learning is probably the most important learning sequence, while theseeded type, a solo-type learning could play a greater role in the growth phase; different organizational learning sequence in the process of R&D investment to promote corporates’performance significantly. Eventually, we established the theoretical framework model. Conclusions have riched the R&D investment and rhe organizational learning theory,at the same time guide the healthy development of manufacturing enterprises, it has a rich theoretical and practical significance.
