| Textile industry as one of the major livelihood industry, its rapid development will contribute to improving people’s income levels and living standards, providing jobs and increasing government tax revenue, etc. But in recent years, the price of the textile raw material always changing, labor, fuel, power and other factors of production prices continued to rise, resulting in increasing pressure on business costs. Resource constraints and monetary liquidity problems will take time to eliminate, and increasing emphasis on green national ecological and environmental protection, so, high operating costs and fierce competition in the market, resource and environmental constraints will become normal operation of the industry, which determines the textile industry must change the extensive mode of production. Therefore, it is imperative to upgrade the textile industry.By summarizing the literature, we found that most studies have focused on the evaluation of industrial competitiveness, the selection and optimization of the upgrade path etc., and less on the influencing factors. At the same time, the view of the study is too concentrated. Therefore, we will analyze the affecting factors of the textile industry upgrading from the perspective of the supply chain, trying to find the main factors, make recommendations with a good view to upgrading the textile industry.Based on supply chain perspective, we build textile industry supply chain. Then, based on previous studies, we analyze the affecting factors of the textile industry upgrading from four aspects, including natural resources, technology, market demand and industry environment. Explain how it works in detail. Next, combining factor analysis and multiple linear regression models, we take the textile industry of Jiangmen City as an example, to do an empirical analysis. Building the index system, select 12 variables to represent, including the average number of employees, R & D expenditure, etc. Taking into account too much variables, multicollinearity may exist, so we first utilize the factor analysis to reduce the dimension. By using SPSS software, we analyze the relevant data of Jiangmen form 2000 to 2014 to get four staple factors named demand factors, resource factors, technology factors and environmental factors through principal component analysis. Then we take these four factors as explanatory variables, with industrial added value to measure the level of industrial development, building multiple linear regression model, to explore the extent of its impact. Based on the supply chain, we make regressionanalysis and correlation test respectively for chemical fiber manufacturing industry in upstream, textile in midstream and textile and apparel textile industry in downstream. The results showed that the key factors of the supply chain on various stages are distinguishing, same with the influence. Among them, the most critical factor affecting chemical fiber manufacturing industry upgrade is the resources, the most critical factor of the textile industry is the technical factor, and the most critical factor impacting on the textile and apparel industry is demand. Environmental factors have a positive role in promoting, but the effect is not obvious. Finally, based on the conclusions, this paper put forward recommendations for supply chain as a whole and its all aspects, in order to provide a useful reference for the development of China’s textile industry. |
