The Enlightenment Of Chinese Farming Tourism To The Tourism Industry

The improvement of people’s living standard in 21 st century has significantly elaborated their spiritual life and promoted the development of tourism as well. The progress made by modern agricultural technology and influence of New Science Movement have not only innovated tourism but also enriched the structure of modern agriculture with a new kind of leisure agriculture or Agritourism, which gets more and more popular in recent years. Leisure agriculture refers to tourism in which visitors can participate in farming or village activities with their interest and knowledge, during which they can relax and relieve from their living pressure, and also experience scenic rural life by staying in accommodation on farms, cooking and helping with farming work and enjoying rural entertainments.Originating from Europe in 19 th Centrury, leisure agriculture or Agritourism was named Farm Tourism by then and welcomed by European aristocrats within a very short time. When more and more wellborn Europeans took vacation in farms or rural areas, European or American bussinessmen with commercial awareness has rebuilt farms and developed all kinds of leisure activities in farms. In China, Agritourism starts since late 1980 s with its origin from western Farm Tourism. By comparison, Agritourism in Hai Phong City, Vietnam is less developed than western countries and mainland China in this sector. However, Hai Phong city enjoys its own particular advantages to develop Agritourism with unique geological location, rich resources, favourable natural environments and special culture features.This thesisis is to analyze the development status of leisure agriculture at home and abroad, and propose some suggestions for the management and development of leisure agriculture in Hai Phong,Vietnam. It has been concluded that in the future development of leisure agriculture in Hai Phong, the government should improve the management by establishing specific leisure agriculture database, carry out professional training on the practitioners, enrich their knowledge system, innovate the mode of business operation and develop various kind of entertaining activities so that has to involve more fishermen to attract more tourists.
