Three-line Construction

"Third-line Construction" was an important decision on Chinese military industrial system and national defence construction. At the same time, it was an obvious case of domestic technology transfer. But so many years, less people paid attention to this case. This dissertation focuses on technology transfer in the "third-line" Construction, and analyses this profound issue.Based on theory of technology transfer, we consider that technology transfer in the "Third-line Construction" had its Chinese characters. From the multi-angle of sociology, we analyses its motivate institution, control institution, running institution and support institution. We evaluate its effection through the different between the goals and its result. Although there were some negative results, we consider it enhanced our defence ability, changed the unbalance between east region and west region, improved technology level in west, and boomed western culture.Finally, we gain the lessons from our research. Theoretically, technology transfer is a Social Construction process and Social Integration process. Its key to success is according to social choice. We have four recommendations about "China Western Development". Firstly, we must aware the importance of technology transfer in "China Western Development". Secondly, huge scale technology transfer must be conducted under government. Thirdly, we should pay more attention to coordination between technology transfer and culture transfer. Finally, for achieving the maxims of benefit on technology transfer, we must utilize the "Late-development Advantage".
