| The defense industry is the economic sector which concentrates on the research, development and manufacture of the military equipment. The level of its technology, the scale of its manufacture and the quality of its structure determine the quantity and quality of armament it supplied to the army. From the perspective of resource distribution, the main problems that defense industry has to solve are how to improve the efficiency of the research and supply of arms, and how to enhance the stability of equipment supplies and the competitive capability of arms research institutions. The international cooperation of defense industry is the activity which aims to promote the cooperation in the research, manufacture, purchase and logistics of defense equipment according to agreements between governments. The cooperation between the developing countries particularly emphasizes introducing its manufacture technology with the introduction of the weaponry system in order to advance the development of their own defense industry and meet their own military requirements.With the deepening of the economic globalization, the trend of internationalization of the defense industry is becoming more and more obvious. From its independence till now, India has built up a whole set of military and economic system centered on the defense industry. Its capability of military research and the modernity of armament have reached a relatively high level, which benefit from its multidirectional and long-term military cooperation with the outside world. This essay systematically analyzed how Indian defense industry engaged in the international cooperation and explored the characteristics and the law of this cooperation. Based on the above-mentioned analysis, it put forward preliminary suggestion and ideas for international cooperation of the defense industry in China so as to provide some referent experience and theoretical foundation for China's defense industry to conduct international cooperation. |
