Sustainable Tourism Development Model Based On Circular Economy In Jiangsu Along The Yangtze River

With the rapid development of the world's tourism industry, environmental concerns arising from tourism are becoming an increasingly serious issue. How to resolve the tension between the development of tourism and environment protection and to achieve the sustainable development of tourism has now become an task facing the entire world.The Recycling Economy is a new theory that was put forward late last century to achieve the "win-win" situation for both the economic development and environment protection. It is a way to achieve sustainable economic and social development.In this article, the author attempts to apply the theory and methodology of the Recycling Economy to the tourism industry and comes up with the concept and basic theory of "Recycling Tourism" based on a review of the studies and practices of the Recycling Economy theory at home and abroad. The concept of "Recycling Tourism" is based on the Recycling Economy theory and is the result of applying the Recycling Economy theory and the thoughts on sustainable development to the tourism industry. It is aimed to reduce or even eliminate the adverse impact, whether directly or indirectly, on the environment by participants of the tourism industry and to ultimately achieve sustainable development.Based on an analysis of the current situation of Jiangsu's tourism industry along the Yangtze's River and a forecast of the market, this article, by employing the tool of SWOT, evaluates the impact brought by the development of Jiangsu's tourism industry along the Yangtze's River on the environment and concludes that Jiangsu's region along the Yangtze's River should develop "Recycling Tourism."Toward the end, this article illustrates a common model for the development of "Recycling Tourism". At the same time, we set up a model for the development of "Recycling Tourism" in Jiangsu's region along the Yangtze's River, which includes the recycling model at sightseeing spots, the combined recycling development model of related industries and the recycling development model for the urban areas. Moreover, it puts forward feasible ways to implement the "recycling tourism" in the region along the Yangtze's River in Jiangsu.
