Agriculture is the basis of Chinese national economy, the Communist Party of China represented by Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi based on the theory of Marxism-Leninism and use Soviet Union's agricultural cooperative movement for reference, managed to explore a way to develop Chinese agriculture. 1950s' agricultural cooperative movement was the active exploration and practice of the CPC. During the time, Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi had done profound research on the problems of remaking Chinese agriculture, developing rural productive forces and exploring cooperative transformation of agriculture. Both of them put forward some important ideas and formed some original notions respectively.This article handles the fundamental tenets of Marxism by adopting the comparative methods and some other ways of combing logic and history, analysis and comprehension to study the ideas of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's agricultural cooperation. It analyzes and approaches not only the main differences of their ideas of agricultural cooperation but also the main causes of the problem. Having investigated and analyzed their ideas by combining the ideas of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's agricultural cooperation with the practice of Chinese agricultural cooperation, we can find the immediate significance on the ideas of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's agricultural cooperation. The article draws a conclusion that the idea of Liu Shaoqi's agricultural cooperation is reasonable and in line with the fundamental tenets of Marxist-Leninist historical materialism and the Chinese agricultural situation. There's much in the reform of rural economic structure after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party that we can use of. Comparing the ideas of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's agricultural cooperation is significant for us to correctly and profoundly understanding the policy of developing agriculture and the way to develop the Chinese agriculture in the new era.
