Since the restart of postal savings business about twenty years ago, it has enjoyed fast speed in balance growth, depending on its outstanding management policy, thus contributing much to the rapid development of national economy in a certain period. However, With the transition of macroeconomic situation, postal savings sector is losing its geographic coverage advantages to collect scattered savings deposits. Moreover, the substantive interest margin from the People's Bank of China has become heavy burden for both the central bank and the financial sector. Therefore, more and more attention is being paid to how to undertake some reform and seek a new way out for the postal savings sector, on which this dissertation will focus, with an aim of finding an appropriate way for the postal savings business in the following aspects:Firstly, the dissertation will analyze the status quo of postal savings business in order to find its problems, thus making the reform necessary.Secondly, much attention will be paid to the market orientation of postal savings business, after analyzing the present market situation and competition structure of domestic banking business and the trend of international banking business.Thirdly, the reforms on finance in overseas postal system that have turned out to be successful will contribute greatly to the reform in domestic postal savings system. So the paper will focus on this aspect.Fourthly, the thesis will use some typical viewpoints for reference to search a few proper ways for postal savings business.Fifthly, the author will pay some attention to the capital separation of postal savings business with the main business of postal system that will inevitably be involved in the reform.Lastly, the thesis will provide some feasible approaches for the development of postal savings sector.
