Air Passenger Demand For Empirical Analysis

With the development of our economics and the increasing of income,air becomes more and more important as a chosen travel mode inpeople's life. The purpose of this paper is to find the factors of the demandof passenger transportation by air, adopting an empirical approach on theside of transportation market. A linear model would be built, which is thefundamental of comparing the air transportation market between china andAmerica. These analysis lead to two conclusions:1. the rise of the percapita income will make more and more people choose air as a transportmode;air carriers make full use of the civil and international airlines to dogreat contribution to the demand of air transport.2. limited by Eaglescoefficient, part of the people's income is spent on the transport .So theincome elasticity is less than the fuel elasticity. China is developing at ahigh speed and per capita income increases year by year .So our airpassenger market will meet a more bright prospect.
