| Industrial competitiveness is one of the most popular questions concerned by academia, the business community, and the governments. As the linkage between the corporate and national competitiveness, the industrial competitiveness' s effective upgrade is the foundation to enhance a given national competitiveness. With the growing penetration of FDI, the automobile industry, which is one of our country' s basic industries, has been greatly benefited from the FDI and its competitiveness has been enhanced.During the 15 years from 1990 to 2004, the general production value of China' s auto industry has reached 5158. 8 billion RMB, Which has growed over 20 times with an annual growth rate of 18.69%. All the above illustrates that the rapid development of china' s auto industry is closely related to the flexible and effective usage to the various forms of foreign investment.Mainly based on the analysis of the predecessors, and combined with the current situation of China, This paper demonstrates the great promotion effect of FDI, choosing the automobile industry as representatives.The whole paper includes four parts in addition to the introduction, which presents the theme and main concept.
