As Chinese insurance industry opening to a complete scale, the number of competitor increased and the competition among the insurance companies getting more and more fierce. Chinese insurance industry, as a organic part of global insurance industry, is now facing fiercely competition and challenge. In such condition, HR inevitably turned into first strategic source for getting competitive advantage. Because the insurance industry is a labor intensive finance service industry, HR become core competence of insurance companies forming strategic competitive advantage.Building HR MIS in insurance companies HRM can obviously improve the advantage of HR competition, and strengthen HR core competitive strength for the insurance companies. MIS has become a necessary choice for insurance companies strengthening their core competence. HR MIS can accomplish HR automation, shorten management cycle, optimize HRM procedure, decrease human duplication and interruption. It also can conformity HR date, analyses date, support decision, help self-service, accelerate participation, increase satisfaction of employees. It also can accelerate integration between HR MIS and other management system, optimize resource distribution and operation procedure, improve management, and accomplish organization goal. HR MIS became strategic advantage of insurance company.The article gives an example that New China Life Insurance Company (NCI) first use SAP HR MIS. And it researches the function of HR MIS to HR core competence. By researching successful case of SAP in NCI, the article describes SAP advantage, characteristic and the process of putting SAP into practice. It also shows SAP effect in HRM, proves its function of strengthening core competence, and summarizes its experience. In the end, the article discusses the trend of SAP in HRM.
